Profhilo is often misunderstood as a filler. It is not. It contains one of the highest concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid available, but with no chemical cross-linking agents, which means it spreads through the skin rather than sitting in one place.

What happens

  1. Assessment

    Lauren assesses skin laxity, hydration and texture, and confirms Profhilo is the right choice rather than a volumising treatment.

  2. Treatment

    Five precise injection points per side, placed at recognised anatomical positions. The product then spreads naturally through the tissue. The appointment takes around thirty minutes.

  3. Second session

    A second treatment four weeks later. Two sessions is the standard protocol and both are needed for the full effect.

  4. Maintenance

    Results usually hold for six to nine months. Most people maintain with a single session every six months.

What exactly does Profhilo do?

It is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that acts as an internal moisturiser, stimulating your skin to produce its own collagen and elastin. This improves firmness, texture and overall hydration without changing your facial structure.

Is Profhilo a filler?

No. While it contains high-concentration hyaluronic acid, it has no chemical cross-linking agents, so it spreads beneath the skin rather than holding a shape. It improves firmness and texture without physically altering your face shape or adding volume.

How many treatments will I need?

Two treatments to start, spaced four weeks apart, followed by maintenance every six months. Both initial sessions are needed, one on its own will not deliver the full effect.

Is there downtime?

Small bumps at the injection sites typically last 12 to 24 hours. Beyond that there is very little to notice. Many people book a treatment and carry on with their day.

How long do results last?

Usually six to nine months, which makes it a strong option for long-term skin quality maintenance rather than a short-lived fix.

Is Profhilo safe for all skin types?

It is one of the most biocompatible treatments available, because it is a highly purified form of hyaluronic acid with no chemical cross-linking agents. That makes it extremely well tolerated across most skin types.

Can Profhilo be used on the neck?

Yes, and it is one of its strengths. The neck and decolletage are areas where volumising treatments tend to look wrong, but bio-remodelling improves crepey texture and laxity there very effectively.

Will it make my face look bigger or puffy?

No. Because it is non-volumising, it does not add fullness. The change people notice is a firmer, better-hydrated quality to the skin rather than any alteration in shape.

How does it compare with polynucleotides?

Profhilo works primarily through deep hydration and a lifting effect on laxity. Polynucleotides work primarily through cellular repair and regeneration. Where skin is thin, fragile or damaged, polynucleotides often come first. Where the main issue is laxity and dehydration, Profhilo is usually the better starting point.

Does it hurt?

There are only ten injection points in total, five per side, so it is quick. Most people describe brief discomfort rather than pain.

Can I have Profhilo alongside lines and wrinkles treatment?

Yes. They address completely different things, one skin quality and one muscle movement, so they work well together. Lauren will space them appropriately.

What age is Profhilo suitable for?

There is no set age. It is used both preventatively in people in their late twenties and thirties and correctively in older skin. Suitability depends on skin condition rather than birth date.
