What Microneedling involves

  1. Consultation and prep

    Skin is assessed and cleansed, and a topical numbing cream is applied for around twenty minutes before treatment begins.

  2. Treatment

    The 1NEEDPRO is passed across the treatment area at a depth chosen for each zone. The treatment itself takes around thirty minutes.

  3. The course

    Three treatments spaced four weeks apart. Collagen remodelling is a slow process, so results continue building between sessions.

  4. Maintenance

    Most people maintain with a single session every four to six months once the initial course is complete.

Not over actively inflamed or pustular areas, as it can spread bacteria. It is excellent for the scarring left behind once acne is under control. Lauren will assess and may suggest treating the acne first.

What if microneedling is not right for me?

Then Lauren will say so at the consultation and talk through what would suit your skin better. Being told no is a reasonable outcome of an honest assessment, and it happens regularly.

What are the appointment times like?

NUA runs by appointment only with flexible scheduling, including times outside standard working hours. That tends to suit clients travelling from Blackskull who would rather not take time off work.

Can I wear make-up afterwards?

Not for 24 hours. The micro-channels need time to close, and applying make-up before then risks irritation and infection. Most people book treatments for a day when that is easy to manage.

Is there any downtime?

Redness for 24 to 48 hours, similar to mild sunburn. Aftercare guidance is given at the appointment, and Lauren is contactable afterwards if anything concerns you.
